Connecting the Engine Battery
1. Ensure the battery meets the minimum ratings: 975 CCA and 65 Ah minimum. 2. Install the battery in an enclosed case in accordance with local regulations (required in some states). 3. Ensure battery cable installation meets pull test requirements and that the positive battery terminal is properly insulated per regulations. 4. Connect the engine battery leads to the battery posts using hex nuts. WARNING: Failure to properly secure the battery leads can result in a loss of power to the Digital Throttle and Shift (DTS) system, leading to serious injury or death due to loss of boat control. 5. Tighten the hex nuts securing battery leads to battery posts to the specified torque. (torque: 13.5 Nm) 6. Verify battery cable size and length meets requirements by referring to Battery Cable Size tables or the engine installation manual. Tools: hex nuts
