Outboard Storage Preparation – Fuel System
1. Determine if gasoline contains alcohol (ethanol or methanol). If so, drain as much remaining gasoline as possible from the fuel tank, remote fuel line, and engine fuel system before proceeding. WARNING: Gasoline containing alcohol can form acid during storage and damage the fuel system. 2. For a portable fuel tank: Pour the required amount of Quickstor Fuel Stabilizer (92-8M0047932) into the fuel tank per container instructions. Tip the tank back and forth to mix the stabilizer with the fuel. 3. For a permanently installed fuel tank: Pour the required amount of Quickstor Fuel Stabilizer (92-8M0047932) into a separate container and mix with approximately 1 liter (1 quart) of gasoline. Pour this mixture into the fuel tank. 4. Fill the fuel tank and engine fuel system with the treated (stabilized) fuel to help prevent formation of varnish and gum. WARNING: Ensure sufficient cooling water is supplied to the water inlets during any engine operation. Without it, the engine, water pump, and other components will overheat and suffer damage.
