Procedure
1. Store the outboard in the full down (upright/vertical) position to allow water to drain out and prevent freezing of water trapped in cooling passages or propeller exhaust outlet. WARNING: Storing the outboard in a tilted position can damage the outboard. Water trapped in the cooling passages or rain water collected in the propeller exhaust outlet in the gearcase can freeze. Store the outboard in the full down position.
