Propeller Selection
1. Use an accurate tachometer to measure engine speed. 2. Choose a propeller that allows the engine to operate within the specified full throttle operating range. At full throttle under normal load, engine RPM should be in the upper half of the recommended full throttle RPM range. Refer to Specifications. 3. If engine RPM is ABOVE the recommended range, select a propeller of INCREASED pitch to reduce engine RPM. 4. If engine RPM is BELOW the recommended range, select a propeller of REDUCED pitch to increase engine RPM. 5. Ensure proper fit and performance by using Mercury or Quicksilver branded propellers and mounting hardware.
