  Procedure · 1. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the pencil coils. 2. Remove the mounting bolts that are securing the pencil coils. Pull the pencil coils from the spark plugs using a twisting motion.

• Spark plug insulator is rough, cracked, broken, or blistered

  Diagnostic · Cause: Insulator damage due to heat, detonation, or mechanical stress Test: Visual inspection of insulator surface
