Cold Engine Starting Procedure (Manual Starter Type)
1. Set the throttle grip to START position. 2. Set the control lever in the Neutral position. 3. Pull the choke knob fully. (Choke is not necessary when the engine is warm — set throttle grip to RE-START position instead.) 4. Pull the starter handle slowly until you feel engagement, keep pulling until you feel less resistance, then pull it quickly. Repeat if necessary until started. WARNING: If the engine does not start after 4 or 5 starting attempts, push the choke knob back and restart. Tools: Manual starter handle
