Engine oil replacement
1. Stop the engine and leave it in a vertical position for over 5 minutes. WARNING: Do not fill engine oil just after operation; allow engine to cool to avoid injury from high temperatures. 2. Tilt up the outboard motor and lock the tilt with the tilt stopper. 3. Turn the steering on the outboard motor so that the oil drain bolt is facing downward. 4. Put an oil drain pan under the oil drain bolt. 5. Remove the oil drain bolt and completely drain oil from the engine via the drain hole. WARNING: Stop the engine immediately if low oil pressure warning lamp illuminates or oil leak is found; consult your dealer. 6. Apply oil on the sealing surface of the drain bolt. Tighten the bolt with a new gasket. (torque: 24 N·m) 7. Tilt the engine down to a vertical position. 8. Repeat steps 2 through 7 two or three times to drain any trapped oil completely. 9. Pull the bottom of the cowl latch to unlock, then lift and remove the top cowl. 10. Fill the engine through the filler port with the recommended oil to between the upper and lower limit marks on the dipstick. WARNING: Do not overfill engine oil. If oil level is over the upper limit mark on the dipstick, drain oil to below the upper limit. Ensure the outboard motor is upright when checking or changing oil. 11. Tighten the oil filler cap.
