Procedure
Spark Plug Inspection and Gap Adjustment
1. Remove the spark plugs using a spark plug wrench and 19 mm eye wrench. 2. Inspect the spark plugs. Replace them if the electrodes are worn, or if the insulators are cracked or chipped. 3. Measure the spark plug electrode gap using a wire-type feeler gauge. The gap should be 0.039 – 0.043 in (1.0 – 1.1 mm). 4. If the gap is incorrect, carefully bend the side electrode to correct it. WARNING: Bend only the side electrode when adjusting the gap; do not apply force to the center electrode or insulator. Tools: Spark plug wrench, 19 mm eye wrench, Wire-type feeler gauge
