1. Ensure the transom mounting surface is flat within 3.17 mm (0.125 in.). No step in the transom mounting surface is allowed. WARNING: No step in the transom mounting surface is allowed. No gap between the transom clamp and boat transom is allowed. 2. Ensure the inside transom mounting bolt washer surface is flat within 3.17 mm (0.125 in.).
