Propeller Removal and Installation
1. Pull propeller straight off shaft. If propeller is seized to the shaft and cannot be removed, have the propeller removed by an authorized dealer. WARNING: If propeller is seized to the shaft and cannot be removed, have it removed by an authorized dealer. 2. To aid in future removal of the propeller, liberally coat the propeller shaft splines with Mercury/Quicksilver Extreme Grease (Part No. 8M0071842) or 2-4-C with PTFE (Part No. 92-802859A 1). 3. Flo-Torq II drive hub propellers – Install forward thrust hub, replaceable drive sleeve, propeller, thrust hub, propeller nut retainer, and propeller nut onto the shaft in that order. 4. Flo-Torq IV drive hub propellers – Install forward thrust hub, replaceable drive sleeve, propeller, thrust hub, propeller nut retainer, and propeller nut onto the shaft in that order. 5. Place a block of wood between the gearcase and propeller, then torque the propeller nut to 75 Nm (55 lb-ft).
