Procedure
Respond to non-critical warning horn (intermittent short beeps for six seconds)
1. Recognize intermittent short beeps for six seconds as a non-critical engine condition. 2. Check for operator-correctable conditions: water in fuel filter, cooling system obstruction, or low engine oil level. 3. If cooling system issue: stop the engine and inspect water intake holes in the lower unit for obstruction. 4. If water in fuel filter: refer to Maintenance – Water Separating Fuel Filter section. 5. If low engine oil: refer to Fuel and Oil – Checking and Adding Engine Oil section. 6. Contact servicing dealer at earliest convenience. Engine power may be limited by Engine Guardian system.
