Procedure
Starting the Engine
1. Read the Pre-Starting Check List, special operating instructions, Engine Break-in Procedure, and Gear Shifting in the Operation section, and the remote control features and operation in the Features and Controls section before starting. WARNING: Without sufficient cooling water, the engine, the water pump, and other components will overheat and suffer damage. Provide a sufficient supply of water to the water inlets during operation. 2. Make sure the cooling water intake is submerged. 3. Check the engine oil level. 4. Open fuel tank vent on manual venting type tanks. 5. Ensure the lanyard is set to the 'RUN' position. The engine will not start unless the lanyard is in this position.
