Procedure
General Outboard Motor Care and Maintenance
1. Perform daily and periodic maintenance as specified in the maintenance schedules to keep the outboard motor in the best operating condition. 2. Observe all inspection and maintenance procedures described in the Inspection and Maintenance section. Personal safety and passenger safety depend on proper motor maintenance. WARNING: Your personal safety and that of your passengers depends on how well you maintain your outboard motor. 3. Apply standard maintenance intervals for motors used under normal conditions. For severe conditions (frequent full-throttle operation, frequent operation in brackish water, or commercial use), perform maintenance at shorter intervals. Consult your dealer if in doubt. 4. Use only genuine Tohatsu replacement parts. Damage resulting from the use of non-genuine parts is not covered under warranty. WARNING: Damage to your outboard motor arising from the use of other than genuine parts is not covered under the warranty.
