Mounting the outboard motor on boat

1. Verify the boat's certification plate and ensure the outboard motor horsepower does not exceed the maximum allowable horsepower rating shown on the plate. WARNING: Do not equip your boat with an outboard motor that exceeds the boat's maximum allowable horsepower limit. 2. Keep the outboard motor in a vertical position when mounting. WARNING: Mounting the outboard motor without following the manual can lead to unsafe conditions such as poor maneuverability, lack of control, or fire. 3. Place the outboard motor in the center of the boat's transom, positioned above the keel line. 4. Ensure the anti-ventilation plate of the outboard motor is 5–25 mm (0.2–1 in) below the bottom of the hull. If this condition cannot be met due to the shape of the boat bottom, consult an authorized dealer. 5. Tighten all clamp screws and mounting hardware to the specified torque using outboard mounting hardware included in the outboard motor package or equivalents of the same size, material, quality, and strength. WARNING: Loose clamp screws and/or mounting hardware can lead to release or displacement of the outboard motor, possibly resulting in loss of control and/or serious personal injury. Check fasteners for tightness before operating the outboard.
