Pre-running test mounting height check
1. Before beginning the running test, confirm the boat with maximum capacity loading floats in a proper attitude. 2. Check the position of the water surface on the driveshaft housing. The anti-ventilation plate should be 5–25 mm (0.2–1 in) below the water surface. WARNING: If the water surface is near the bottom cowling, water may enter the engine cylinders in high waves. 3. Verify there are no underwater objects, hull bottom design features, or underwater accessories that could cause water spray to reach the engine through the bottom cowling opening during cruising. WARNING: Exposing the engine to water spray for extended periods can lead to severe engine damage.
