Procedure
Starting procedure – Tiller handle type
1. Install the stop switch lock to the stop switch and attach the stop switch lanyard securely to the operator or to the operator's PFD (Personal Flotation Device). WARNING: Failure to attach the lanyard may prevent the engine from being stopped in an emergency. 2. Set the shift lever to the Neutral position. WARNING: Start-in-gear protection prevents engine start in any position other than neutral. In-gear starting will move the boat immediately, potentially causing passengers to fall overboard. 3. Set the throttle grip to the START position.
