Procedure
1. Turn out the manual tilt release valve three turns counterclockwise to allow manual tilting of the outboard. WARNING: The manual tilt release valve must be tightened before operating the outboard to prevent the outboard from tilting up during reverse operation. 2. Tilt the outboard to the desired position. 3. Tighten the manual tilt release valve.
