Outboard Engine Installation – Transom Clamp Bracket Mounting

1. Do not install wedges or plates between the transom clamp brackets and the transom (or jack plate). WARNING: Failure to comply with installation instructions could lead to serious injury or death. 2. Ensure the engine does not exceed the boat's maximum horsepower rating before installation. WARNING: Exceeding the boat's maximum horsepower rating can cause serious injury or death. Overpowering the boat can affect boat control and flotation characteristics or break the transom. 3. Do not install an accessory electric fuel pump onto the fuel system for this engine. 4. Have the engine installed only by a Mercury authorized dealer. If self-installing, read and comply fully with all installation instructions.
