Procedure
1. Store the outboard in an upright (vertical) position to allow water to drain out of the outboard. WARNING: Storing the outboard in a tilted position can damage the outboard. Water trapped in the cooling passages or rain water collected in the propeller exhaust outlet in the gearcase can freeze. Store the outboard in the full down position.
