Procedure
1. Insert the oil tube nozzle into the lower oil plug hole. 2. Fill with gear oil by squeezing the oil tube until oil flows out of the upper plug hole. 3. Replace the oil plug gasket with a new one. 4. Install the upper oil plug first, then remove the oil tube nozzle and install the lower oil plug. Parts: Oil plug gasket (new), Mercury or Quicksilver Gear Oil (API GL-5, SAE #80 to #90)

Procedure · 1. Tilt the outboard so that the oil drain plug is at the lowest point. 2. Place the drain pan below the outboard. 3. Remove the vent plug (a) and fill/drain plug (b) and drain lubricant.
Diagnostic · Cause: Recoil/rewind starter mechanism failure Test: Remove upper motor cover and recoil starter; wrap rope around starter pulley and pull quickly to verify manual start capability
