Manual Engine Start When Recoil Starter Fails
1. Remove the upper motor cover and the recoil starter. WARNING: The exposed moving flywheel can cause serious injury. Keep your hands, hair, clothing, tools, and other objects away from engine when starting or running the engine. Do not attempt to reinstall the rewind starter assembly or top cowl when engine is running. 2. Wrap a rope around the starter pulley, then pull quickly to start. 3. Use a 10 mm socket wrench as a rope handle. Tools: 10 mm socket wrench (used as rope handle)
