Adjust trim angle

1. Stop the engine before adjusting the trim angle. WARNING: Do not put hand or finger between the outboard motor body and clamp bracket when adjusting trim angle — the outboard motor body may fall and cause injury. 2. Observe hull attitude during operation. The trim angle is correct when the anti-ventilation plate runs parallel to the water surface and the hull is horizontal. WARNING: Do not cruise at high speed if an improper trim position is suspected. Stop the boat and readjust trim angle before continuing. 3. If the bow rises too high above horizontal, set the thrust rod (or priset knob) to a LOWER position. 4. If the bow dips below horizontal, set the thrust rod (or priset knob) to a HIGHER position. 5. After adjusting, run the boat slowly initially to verify the trim position allows safe control before resuming normal speed. WARNING: Unsuitable trim position can cause loss of boat control. Excessive trim up or down may lead to unstable operation and steering difficulty. For models with a PTT switch on the bottom cowl, do not operate the switch during cruising — control of the boat may be lost.
