Procedure
Trim Angle Adjustment
1. Stop the engine before adjusting the trim angle. WARNING: Do not put hand or finger between the outboard motor body and clamp bracket when adjusting trim angle to prevent possible injury. 2. Select a trim position and run the boat slowly initially to verify it can be controlled safely. WARNING: Unsuitable trim position can cause loss of control of the boat. 3. For manual tilt models: If trim is improperly positioned while underway, stop the boat and readjust trim angle before continuing to cruise. WARNING: Excessive trim up or down may cause unstable boat operation and loss of control, which may lead to an accident during cruising. 4. For models with PT or PTT switch on the bottom cowl: Do not operate the switch while cruising. WARNING: Operating the PT/PTT switch during cruising may cause loss of control of the boat.
