Procedure
Cold Engine Start – Electric Starter Type
1. Pull the choke knob fully out. WARNING: Choke is not necessary when the engine is warm. Set the throttle grip to RE-START position instead. 2. Push the starter switch button and release the button as soon as the engine starts. WARNING: Do not hold the starter motor engaged for more than 5 seconds or the battery may be depleted, potentially making starting impossible and/or damaging the starter. If cranking for over 5 seconds fails to start the engine, return the main switch to ON and crank again after waiting 10 seconds or more. 3. After engine starts, gradually return (push in) the choke knob while monitoring engine speed. If engine speed is unstable, pull the choke knob back out as needed. 4. Check that cooling water is flowing from the cooling water check port.
