Manual Tilt Type – Tilt Down (Release Position)
1. Lift up the outboard motor slightly until it is in the Release position, then lower (tilt down) the outboard motor.

Diagnostic · Cause: Entrapped air in the Power Tilt unit Test: Perform air purging procedure: set manual release valve to Manual, tilt motor up/down 5–6 times manually, then close valve to Power side

Procedure · 1. Slightly tilt the motor up. 2. Pull the tilt lever toward you to release the tilt-lock. 3. Lower the motor slowly to the tilt down position.
Diagnostic · Cause: Manual relief valve is open/not fully closed Test: Inspect and confirm the manual relief valve is fully closed before engine operation
