Manual Tilt Using Manual Relief Valve (Dead Battery)

1. Ensure nobody is under the outboard motor before opening the manual relief valve, especially if the motor is in the tilted-up position. WARNING: If the outboard motor is in the tilted-up position, it will tilt down suddenly if the manual relief valve is loosened in the 'Manual' direction. 2. Open the manual relief valve completely in the 'Manual' direction to allow manual tilting of the outboard motor. 3. Manually tilt the outboard motor up or down as needed. 4. Close the manual relief valve completely before operating the outboard motor. WARNING: If the manual relief valve is not closed, the outboard motor will tilt up when operated in reverse.
