Outboard Motor Storage – Vertical Positioning

1. Stand the outboard motor up vertically in a dry place for storage. WARNING: Do not carry or store the outboard motor in non-vertical positions. Improper positioning can cause oil leakage resulting in engine damage or property damage. 2. If the outboard motor must be laid down, drain the fuel and engine oil first, then lay the motor on a cushion as shown in the manual (See pages 78 and 54). 3. When traveling, elevate the power unit 2 to 4 inches to avoid oil spillage.
