Procedure
1. Locate the anodes on each side of the gear case and on the stern bracket. 2. Inspect the anodes for size reduction and structural integrity. 3. Replace the anodes when they have been reduced to about two-thirds of their original size, or if they are crumbling. WARNING: Do NOT paint or coat the anodes. Painting or coating defeats their purpose and will lead to rust and corrosion damage to the outboard motor. Anodes must remain exposed to the water.
