Fuel Filter with Water Separator Inspection

1. Remove the engine cover by releasing the engine cover latch at the front and the engine cover latches on each side (refer to p. 88). 2. Look through the translucent strainer cup and visually check the fuel filter with water separator for water accumulation or sediment. 3. If the fuel filter with water separator is clogged, refer to the fuel filter with water separator replacement procedure (p. 102) to remove the filter and clean it. WARNING: Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive, and you can be burned or seriously injured when handling fuel. Stop the engine and let it cool before handling fuel. Keep heat, sparks, and flame away. Handle fuel only outdoors. Wipe up spills immediately.
