Shallow Water Operation
1. Use the power trim/tilt switch (see pages 75–76) to tilt the outboard motor up so the propeller and gear case clear the bottom. 2. Proceed at low speed. 3. Monitor water flow from the cooling system indicator (see page 50) to verify the outboard motor is not tilted so high that the water intakes are out of the water. WARNING: An excessive trim/tilt angle during operation can cause propeller ventilation, overheating, and water pump damage. This type of damage is not covered by the Distributor's Limited Warranty (p. 145).
