Procedure
1. Inspect the anode periodically, especially in saltwater environments where erosion is accelerated. 2. Replace the anode before it is completely eroded to maintain corrosion protection. WARNING: Never paint or apply a protective coating on the anode as this will reduce its effectiveness.
