Procedure
Trim tab adjustment for straight-line cruising
1. Ensure the outboard motor is secured to the transom or a service stand before performing any adjustment. WARNING: Be sure that the outboard motor is secured to the transom or service stand; accidental drop or fall of the outboard motor could lead to severe personal injury. 2. If the boat veers toward the left, direct the trim tab toward position A (left from rear of boat). WARNING: Inappropriate adjustment of the trim tab could cause steering difficulty. After installing or readjusting the trim tab, check if steering friction is even. 3. If the boat veers toward the right, direct the trim tab toward position B (right from rear of boat). 4. After adjustment, securely tighten the trim tab fixing bolt. 5. Check for looseness of the bolt and the trim tab at regular intervals.
