Washing outboard motor (general)
1. When washing the outboard motor, do not spray water inside the top cowl, especially on electrical components. WARNING: Be careful not to spray water inside the top cowl, especially on electrical components. 2. If the outboard motor is used in salt water, brackish water, or water with a high acidic level, use fresh water to remove salt, chemicals, or mud. Flush the cooling water passage after every use or before long-term storage. 3. Before flushing, remove the propeller and the forward thrust holder.
