Procedure
Operating Multiple Outboard Motors with One Stopped
1. If one or more motor(s) is stopped while the other(s) is running, shift the stopped motor into 'N' (neutral). 2. Tilt the stopped motor up so its propeller is above the water's surface. WARNING: If the propeller of the stopped motor is left in the water with its gearshift in 'R' (reverse) and the boat is moving forward, reverse flow of water from the exhaust side can occur, causing an engine malfunction.
