Oil filter replacement and oil filling

1. Clean the oil filter mounting base. Apply a film of clean oil to the new filter gasket. Do not use grease. WARNING: Do not use grease on the filter gasket — use clean oil only. 2. Screw the new oil filter on until the gasket contacts the base, then tighten an additional 3/4 to 1 turn. 3. Remove the oil fill cap and add approximately 5.2 liter (5.5 US qt) of the recommended oil to bring the oil level within the midpoint of the operating range. 4. Idle the engine for five minutes and check for leaks. 5. Stop the engine. Allow the engine to cool for at least one hour before checking the oil level for an accurate reading. WARNING: Checking the oil level within five minutes of engine shutdown can falsely read up to 1 liter (1 US qt) low. Wait at least one hour for an accurate reading. 6.
