Procedure
Pre-use lanyard stop switch and cord inspection
1. Start the engine and pull the lanyard cord to verify the lanyard stop switch stops the engine. If the engine does not stop, have the switch repaired before operating the boat. WARNING: Do not operate the boat if the lanyard stop switch is not functioning properly. 2. Visually inspect the lanyard cord for any breaks, cuts, or wear. WARNING: Replace any damaged or worn lanyard cords before use. 3. Check that the clips on both ends of the lanyard cord are in good condition. Replace the cord if any clip is damaged or worn.
